About the Base Camp

Our base camp is located in the desert, in the middle of the dunes. It is organized in “tents” of 2 to 4 beds, around a central fireplace. The “tents” are small clay bungalows built according to the local technique.
The base camp is brand new (built in the summer of 2023) and can accommodate up to 30 people. Solar panels provide electricity and there are shared sanitary facilities & hot showers. Bed linen and towels are provided.
A chef prepares delicious traditional meals on site with fresh products.

A covered space is available for the yoga classes and planned group activities during retreat.

It’s also possible to set up an open tent in the dunes, close to the base camp, where we can make a fire, share songs under the desert sky.

About the daily Treks in the Desert (Day 3 to 5)

We walk 2h30 to 3h30 hours per day. The trek is rather easy (no change in altitude and we don’t need to climb the dunes, we walk between them on a hard surface) and we adapt the pace according to the group. We are accompanied by the camel caravan and the Nomads team. Luggage is carried by the camels. Each participant has his/her own small backpack during the trek for water, camera, any personal items. For people who have difficulty walking this long, a camel can be rented at an extra cost.

For sleeping arrangements: we bring along large collective tents, as well as mattresses and blankets. We suggest participants to bring their own sleeping bag. Participants can sleep in the tents or under the stars around the fire or on the dunes. Everyone is free to choose.

At each stage, a cook prepares meals on site using high-quality, healthy local products. Vegetarian dishes are available on request.
We take jerrycans of drinking water to fill our drinking bottles, and for the preparation of the meals.
